Casual Fridays // White Denim 101

Welcome back to Casual Fridays! How did you like last weeks breakdown of distressed denim shorts? Today I wanted to break down white denim with you guys. Such a summer staple and such a tricky piece of clothing for a lot of us girls. Truly a piece that you can wear throughout the summer on repeat and totally dress up or down…but my goodness there are SO many styles to choose from and SO many fits. Skinny, flare, distressed, see through, wrinkles, too white, not white enough, makes my thighs look huge…I mean the list of dilemmas goes on and on. So, here’s a simple breakdown of what styles of white denim to look for this year, inspiration on how to wear each, my favorites based on reviews and value and full roundups of favorites in each style. Whew, I really went to bat for you guys on this one!

Of course, white skinny jeans are by far the most popular summer style and I love that you can throw them on with a casual top and flip flops or dress them up with a chiffon tank and wedges. I usually get hung up on the fit for my body type (aka pear shape), so here are the styles that I personally love and see as a great fit for most women. See how I like to wear mine HERE and HERE.

Next, I truly LOVE the fit and flare 70’s vibe that’s so hot right now. Remember how much I wore my denim flares in the Fall?? To me, they are especially flattering on girls like me who are conscious about their booty/thigh area. I always find that the flare distracts from problem areas and is super flattering, especially in white. See how Miranda Kerr Paired her white flares with a chambray button up for a relaxed, yet very polished look.

Distressed is a huge trend that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere any time soon. I love the look of distressed white denim, as it gives them a more laid back, cool feel. I also adore how Sincerely Jules shows how to glam them up with a white on white look and some edgy accessories.
