Surprise!! We’ve Been Keeping a Secret! October 24, 2016 | We’ve… been keeping…. …a BIG secret!!! Our little family is expanding in April!!!!! We can hardly contain our excitement and I’ve been so excited to share our news with you guys! My Dress | This is part of a “Tall” line, so it is a really long dress. I have 3” heels on here and I’m 5’9, so you really get a feel for the length. IMO it’s 100% worth buying and hemming and there’s PLENTY of room for a bump, but it’s also flattering without one and is a non-maternity dress. Dan: Sweater | Chambray Button Up | Chinos | His favorite shoes! Landry: Dress | Fur Vest | Fringe Booties Of course, I wanted to tell my little bestie right away, but our doctor really really really encouraged us to wait until after 12 weeks to share the news with Landry, just in case something happened. It was by far the hardest secret that I’ve ever kept, but the funny thing is that she knew all along. During my entire first trimester she was so sensitive towards me, would innocently rub my belly for no reason and was constantly asking if I was feeling okay. She relentlessly prayed for a baby brother or sister the entire time and I swear that there were so many moments when I actually felt like my heart might burst with joy. Their innocence and pure hearts never cease to amaze me. She’s so intuitive and sensitive and is going to make the most wonderful big sister! We decided to wait until the “reveal” photoshoot to tell her so that we could capture her reaction on camera…and I’m SO glad that we did. Here’s a little series of how it went down…a little confusion, a little shock, a LOT of excitement, one very loud “THANK YOU GUYS!” (note us dying laughing) and a major “Happy Dance” to finish it off. Our hearts are so so full… Ashley Louise Photo Here are some details: Due Date: April 28th How far along? 13, nearly 14 weeks. It’s FLOWN by! I remember my pregnancy with Landry literally creeping along and this one feels like I’m on a high speed roller coaster that’s barreling towards April at lightening speed. Eeek! How do I feel? WONDERFUL! I feel a little bad typing that, but I really do feel great. Aside from the typical exhaustion, I have no other symptoms, which is amazing. I was very nauseous from weeks 6-10 (and had quite the food aversion situation), but thankfully that blew over and it’s back to bliss. Cravings: A TON! Namely potatoes (in the form of Chickfila waffle fries, baked potatoes, or potato chips), Lucky Charms, cold fruit, burgers, and nearly any other comfort food in between. I’m clearly on the healthy track…hopefully these cravings subside lol. Aversions: Quite a few… Fish, salads, oddly coffee for a while there (que panic attack) and lots of smells can make me go from zero to 60 in about 1 second flat. Bump: YEP! I do feel like my body is conforming to pregnancy faster this go round, which I guess is normal. I do have a pretty sweet bump, which I’m loving…but I also feel like my rear tends to grow in equal proportions with my belly, which I’m not really loving. Not in maternity clothes yet, but I don’t think that I’ll be able to hold out as long as I did with Landry, which was 20+ weeks. Boy or Girl? We’ll know soon! I can believe we are just 4 short weeks away from our anatomy scan, and YES we are finding out the gender! Heart beat has been really high 160-175 bpm, which was just like Landry’s and all of the Chinese calendars say girl. Dan and I are both pretty sure that it’s a girl, but we would seriously LOVE to have either one! How’s Landry? She’s beyond excited! She diligently asks me every morning “Is the baby coming out today?” and every night she prays over my belly…it’s probably one of the sweetest things she does to date. As I write personal posts like this pregnancy announcement, I always feel extra emotional about this blog and you guys in particular. The fact that you come here everyday and actually give a hoot about what I have to say is absolutely mind blowing. Top that off with the genuine friendships that have come along with writing Style Your Senses and I’m a big huge hormonal, emotional mess right now. You guys are a huge part of my life and I’ve been dying to share our big secret with you. Thank you for sharing in our everyday and for sharing in our joy. I can’t wait to take you along on this crazy, wonderful season of life. I can’t promise that it will always be picture perfect, but it will be real and chaotic and genuine. Please feel free to share the journey with your pregnant friends as well! Love you guys and thank you again for your unending support!
