The Friday Edit October 21, 2016 | Hi Friends! I’m doing major “it’s the weekend” happy dance as I write this Friday Edit! Our house was a little under the weather this week, but hopefully we all feel better for the weekend. I’ve been frequenting the juice bar all week in hopes of staying healthy, so fingers crossed it works! I know that I promised big news this week, but we are still working through a few details before I can share…hopefully Monday!!!! Here’s what you loved this week on Style Your Senses: Top Post: How to Justify Designer Denim + My Top 5 Tips When Buying New Jeans | I showed you why I think that finding the RIGHT pair of designer jeans makes them 100% worth the investment and also shared my tried and true top 5 tips when buying a new pair of jeans. Shop the looks below or read the full post HERE. Look 1: White T-Shirt | Plaid Button Up | Hudson Skinny Jeans | Black Cross Body Bag | Leopard bag Tassel | Adidas Superstar Sneaker | Gold Hoops (on sale for $5!!!) Look 2: Wrap Front Sweater | Hudson Skinny Jeans | Grey Suede Booties | Sunnies | Gold Earrings | Bracelet Stack | Leopard Clutch Look 3: Black V Neck Tank (My FAV!) | Hudson Skinny Jeans | Bomber Jacket | Jimmy Choo Pumps | Velvet Choker | Leopard Clutch | Sunnies I also shared my final post in our Fall Finds series and it was all about outerwear. Since it’s still pretty warm in most of the country, I didn’t really know how receptive you guys would be to talking all about Winter coats, but thankfully YOU LOVED IT! You also had some clear favorites and they were this casual boucle walking jacket (so versatile!), this feminine shawl collar wrap coat (on sale in a ton of colors!), and this sleek cocoon coat. You can read why I like each piece in the full post HERE or shop directly from the board below! p.s. I also shared top 10 Fall Facts to know about me…can you guess which Starbucks drink I hate?? JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. Last but not least, I shared a peek at our Festive Fall Front Porch and shared the easiest DIY to take your Fall porch game up a notch! See the easy tutorial HERE. Instagram: I posted about a FLASH SALE on Wednesday night that put both of these cute tops under $30 (!!) and you guys totally pounced. Sadly, the sale is over, but the good news is that they are still on sale and still quite the deal! The lace mock neck top comes in 3 colors and is so darling and dainty. It does require a cami underneath, but would also work well layered under a blazer as the weather cools! The sweater is the one that I left with and I’m so happy that I snagged it. It’s more of a boyfriend fit and has oversized cuffs and hem to make it very on-trend. It also comes in 3 colors and is one that I would HIGHLY recommend it’s also on MAJOR sale for $25. This is the problem with the Friday Edit…I shop for myself…just bought the black too!! Lace Top on Left | Sweater on Right ($25 in 3 colors!!!) Ever since I wore this rust cardigan (that quickly sold out) in this post, you guys have been asking for me to find a similar cardigan in this exact rust color. I’ve been on a major hunt and have finally found a near perfect dupe AND it’s in this rich rust color!!!!! Here I threw on my go to light layers…an extra long black tank, my favorite leggings, and this tunic cardigan…with a statement necklace to distract from the bags under my eyes 😉 Rust Cardigan Dupe | Long Tank | Leggings | Similar Statement Necklace | Booties | Cross Body Bag | Leopard Tassel This wasn’t the most “liked” Instagram this week, but this wrap sweater was definitely the top item on my LTK! It’s lightweight, cozy and I love the wrap front style detail. Would be cute with a lace bralette under it for a sassy date night OR with a full coverage cami (shown here) for everyday wear. It also comes in a pretty deep blue and black. Shop it HERE. Sweater | Denim | Sneakers Link Love: Okay so please tell me that I’m not the only who gets sucked into those Facebook video recipes? I’m addicted! I saw one this week for a cabbage, noodle and sausage skillet (which sounds so gross to type out, BTW) and was craving it ever since, which is such an out of the ordinary combo for me. I made it on Tuesday night and #1 it was SO easy and #2 it was one of the best comfort food dishes that we’ve had in a long time…and both Dan and Landry agreed. The general recipe is HERE…I started by browning and onion, garlic and sausage in the skillet and then added cabbage, seasoning (Tony’s, garlic powder and onion powder), and finally cooked noodles. It took all of 30 minutes to throw together and was delish! One of the hottest trends in handbags this Fall is interchangeable straps…playfully calling them “guitar straps” because of their boho feel. The fab Rebecca Minkoff has a great selection of them that you can wear not only with her handbags but nearly any handbag that has the cross body hardware. The only issue is that they are $99 each, which is too expensive for a lot of people when you consider that you have to buy the actual handbag too. If you want to snoop, you can view her guitar strap collection HERE. BUT if you want to adopt the trend without spending so much dough, this darling cross body with a statement strap is the perfect under $100 option! Shop it HERE. I pinned this pillow onto one of my Pinterest Boards (are you following along? You should be!!) and I wanted to share it here too. A great leopard velvet and only $40 for the cover! Such a good deal and a great statement piece in any room. Shop it HERE. I’m all about sweaters now that it might FINALLY cool off and a bit and I thought that you guys might like this casual little number as much as I do. From the front you can only see hints of the darling lace details, but from the back you see a full lace panel. Kind of like a mullet…business in the front, party in the back. Honestly, I crack myself up. Anywayyy, it comes in 4 colors and this heather grey is my favorite…great price too! Lace Detail Sweater Okay, how fun is this witchy guac??! The perfect party app to bring to your Halloween gathering. The recipe isn’t typically how I make guacamole, but it’s a good starting point on how to put everything together! Kendra Scott just launched their Winter Collection and these earrings are definitely my favorite piece. Don’t you think that they are great for Holiday parties? While I think that Tory Burch has become a wee bit proud of her bags if you know what I mean…this new release did absolutely stop me in my tracks this week. It’s a camera bag style worn as a cross body and actually has a ton of storage. I might look past the price and add it to my Christmas list…it was THAT good. Shop it HERE. Sales and Steals: I love the sleek look of this puffer vest. Very streamlined and clean and on sale! It comes in 4 of the hottest colors for Fall and is on sale for $47! Shop it HERE. I shared my new little friend on Instagram yesterday and I think that she’s a total steal!!! This dreamy moto jacket is right under $100 and comes in 4 gorgeous colors with tons of style details to boot. There’s a full fit review still up on my Instastories. These will sell out fast, so don’t wait! Shop it HERE. Another Fall Fact that you should know about me is that I’ve never owned a pair of Uggs in my life…not even in college and not even a pair of slippers. They are not my thing only because I don’t think that they look cute on me. On a different note, so many people somehow make them look cute (and moreover comfortable!) and this pair is on major sale, so I thought that I would share. I love the fold over and they are nearly 50% off, making them right around $100 with free shipping! All sizes available! Shop them HERE. I hope that you guys have a wonderful weekend! Stay tuned on Monday! xoxo
