The Friday Edit March 11, 2016 | Cheers to the weekend! This Friday totally snuck up on me and I’m squeaking in so late with this post, but better late than never, right?? Truth be told, I’ve spent less time at the computer this week and more time getting my hands dirty finishing up our Office + Playroom project. I hope to have it photographed by next week and published the week after…I’m dying to share!! Yesterday, I finally caved and gave into The Container Store. I’ve long been putting it off because it’s another expensive addiction that I knew was looming, but it was definitely time as my un-organization has reached an all time high and I’m getting a twitch in my own house. I’m blaming Cassie for sending me over the edge when she posted this beautifully organized craft closet. I started with this wrapping paper, ribbon, etc storage solution for over the closet doors in the office and I cannot tell you how much better I feel already. Now I’m convincing myself I need one for every door in my home. Any Container Store addicts out there? What are your favorites?? Whew, totally derailed there into organization land…back to earth and the highlights for this week… Top Post: The top post was definitely Fab Finds : 20 Spring Dresses Under $100! You guys were definitely on my page and seemed to be on the hunt for some cute spring dresses both dressy and casual at a great price. I have 3 on order myself and 3 already in my closet, so I totally believe in and love all of the finds…and for under $100 you really can’t beat it! JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. I wasn’t surprised that THIS casual racerback was the most clicked on dress…it’s cute, comfy and super laid back for a mom on the go who still wants to look chic! THIS floral swing dress was also really popular and a few of you emailed me with questions, so I did an Instagram fit review last night. Here are the details in case you missed it: Fit: TTS | I’m wearing a M for some extra length, but the fit is super forgiving so I could have done a small if I were shorter. Length: Plenty long enough for a mom on the go, but still fun with heels for Happy Hour. A little longer in the back too, which I love. I’m 5’9 for reference. In Wednesday’s post, I talked about how much I loved my new ivory trench vest and all of the ways to wear it, but you guys were more into the wide leg trousers. Aren’t they fun?? I’m so over the skinny leg (although I definitely still wear it!), that these pants are such a refreshing take on Spring wear. Love them with a crop for a fun look and polished up with the trench vest for a daytime event. They are overall true to size, but might run just a hint big. Monday’s post was all about Landry’s Mardi Gras themed 3rd Birthday and it’s was quite the carnival celebration! Always fun seeing the sparkle in an innocent baby’s eyes on special occasions! Instagram: Being in sunny San Diego over the weekend gave my Instagram such a fun dose of bright color and I’m so happy you were following along. If you missed anything I plan to do a full Insta roundup really soon but here were the highlights from this week specifically… Top Post: Turn on your JavaScript to view content This is one of my all time favorite dresses and when someone says “formal” I jump at the opportunity to wear it. This beautiful wedding in La Jolla was the perfect place to wear it for the first time this season and I changed up my jewelry and opted for these gorgeous statement tassel earrings ($34!) to make the royal blues pop. The dress is sold out, but there’s an updated version for this Spring that’s equally as beautiful and perfect for Spring events! The updated version doesn’t have quite as much darker blue, so these pink + coral tassel earrings would be perfect with it! The most clicked on liketoknow.it (sign up here!) item was my favorite blush handbag that just got marked down 40% off!!!! If you’ve been following along for any amount of time, you know that I’ve been carrying this bag non-stop since November and am still in full blown love with it. Here’s what I love: -It’s versatile…handbag to crossbody bag at any moment and based on what I’m doing that day, I LOVE the flexibility and the fact that it actually lays beautifully as both. -I love the color…it’s somewhere between a blush, mauve and putty color and it’s beautiful. Not too bright, but a beautiful update from the traditional neutral. It works with almost anything and it’s a throw on and go bag with the perfect amount of trendy details. -The size is my new favorite. I’m used to carrying BIG bags and honestly I just tend to become Mary Poppins. I don’t clean them out enough and end up finding chapstick from 1992 in the bottom of my handbags. This size was an adjustment for me (even though for most people it’s still a big bag), but I love that it holds just enough and doesn’t have room for clutter. Although it sold out at 40% off, I did find it 20% off in multiple colors HERE. Link Love: I finally caved and bought THIS LAMP for Landry’s room. Remember all Pillowfort is still 20% off! I shamelessly shared that I scored THIS SWIMSUIT at Wal-Mart on Snapchat. I mean $11 each?? Yes, please!! I also shared on Snap that I got the most beautiful piece of Gina Julian art framed from Framebridge and am obsessed. Check all of her work out HERE. I ALSO ALSO shared on Snap (can you tell I’m LOVING Snapchat?!!) that we made our favorite chocolate chip cookies this week. If you’re looking for a go-to recipe, THIS is our faaaavorite! Um HELLO did anyone know that Amazon sells Fiddle Leaf Figs for $20????? WHAT?!?!?! Have two on order and at $20 who cares if I kill them in 3 months. I’m doing a major happy dance! Landry is in DIRE need of some Spring clothes, but I have been waiting until the verryyyy last minute to buy them, simply because she’s growing so fast. We walked into Baby Gap after lunch one day this week and I had a total moment of weakness and bought all the things…thankfully there was a gift card involved. Lucky for you guys, they are offering 35% off through the weekend, so you can score some cuteness too. Here’s what we left with: Turn on your JavaScript to view content Sales and Steals : This relaxed fit t-shirt was my favorite sale find for the week, being marked down to $10 in 4 colors! If you’ve been eyeing THESE sassy heels, they are temporarily marked down to under $100!!! Run before sizes are gone! Happy Weekend, sweet friends! See you on Instagram & Snap (@styleyoursenses)! xo
