What's in a year?

Today we are celebrating LK’s first birthday. One whole year that this baby girl has been on our lives and man what a difference 365 days can make. As I type this, I can almost feel the contractions, mixed with excitement, mixed with sheer terror (add in D taking two wrong turns getting to the hospital) and it makes me smile thinking about how little I knew my life would change. I was so un-prepared for what this baby girl would do to me and what a different person I would be just one short year later. LK, from the minute you entered this world, you have held our hearts in the palm of your little tiny hands. You are our greatest accomplishment, our pride and joy, and the brightest ray of sunshine on the cloudiest of days. You have taught us about patience, true selflessness, the sweet innocence of a baby, and more about love than we ever thought was possible. You bring joy to so many people and we are so blessed that God chose us to be your parents. Thank you for being such an angel this past year and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for you, sweet girl of ours!
