Weekend Recap…a day late June 17, 2014 | Whew…it’s been a crazy few days…LK cut her canines (um, those are a B*%^@H) and had a little virus last week and on Sunday I ended up coming down with strep. I honestly didn’t even think adults got strep!?….leave it to me and my lackluster immune system. In between there somewhere, we actually managed to have a great weekend and I wanted to share some pics with you… By Friday at 5, we can usually both agree on Margaritas and “Friday Night Mexican” is kind of turning into a summer tradition around these parts. Typically, we have been frequenting Cantina (because they have awesome live music on the patio…and amazing queso), but last Friday we opted for Chuys. Sister enjoys her chips + salsa. A girl after my own heart…. Summer // Simple Stylings Beth // Design Post Interiors Bethany // Dwellings by Devore Saturday morning I met up with these fabulous Charlotte ladies, whom I’m sure you are familiar with! We started out at VTGCLT (which is a bi-annual vintage vendor market) and this year it was at the Fillmore. After some fun browsing, we walked over to VBGB for lunch. Lots going on there, I def want to take the fam back sometime during the day…they have all kinds of fun games going on. Here’s my score from VTGCLT…a brass champagne bucket! I’ve been dreaming of one to add to my kitchen for storing utensils and I haven’t come across the perfect find. Lo and behold, my favorite Charlotte vendor, Dress My Room, had one sitting so pretty in her perfectly styled booth. ((Remember I bought the leopard rug that I used in my One Room Challenge Living Room from her, too)). I mean the champs bucket even came with freshly planted basil…which I have pesto plans for soon. Needless to say, carting around fresh basil in a champagne bucket made for great conversation. Saturday night we snuck out of the house for a date night out at the White Water Center. Not my typical idea of a date night, but we had a great time. Saturday the WWC hosted a craft brew festival and they had a host of live music playing all day. The line-up was finished off with Robert Earl Keen…who happens to be one of our favorite Texas Country artists. We have yet to see any TX country here in NC and relished in the night for that reason. I will also admit that the White Water Center is absolutely beautiful…and although you will not ever catch me partaking in any form of white water rafting…I would definitely go back for a fun day with the family. The sunset over the water was not to be missed. Sunday we woke up bright and early to beat the crowds at our favorite breakfast place close to the casa to celebrate our fav guy for Fathers Day. Lots of coffee and chocolate chip pancakes later, we walked down to feed the ducks and search for turtles at the little pond behind the restaurant. It’s one of LK’s favorite spots and she totally loves pointing out every single animal. Then I went to Urgent Care because my throat felt like it was full of razors. Awesome. And that, my friends, is where the fun ends. I do feel lots better today and the doc seemed to think that we caught it early enough, so that’s great news! Yay for antibiotics! Hope that you guys had a great weekend and got to celebrate all of the amazing dads in your lives. Back tomorrow with a super cute What We Wore post about what we wore to our Friday Night Mexican dinner!

Beth of designPOST Interiors says June 18, 2014 at 1:16 AM You don't want to wear that helmet and hold onto a raft for dear life?? What?? Have you tried Pacos Tacos- it's my new fave mexican.
charmingincharlotte@gmail.com says June 18, 2014 at 2:09 AM It really is my idea of a worst nightmare. I CAN see myself being good at a blanket laying/drink sipping type activity out there though! I have NOT tried Pacos (it's always so hidden back there behind WS!), but now that you gave it a thumbs up we might have to head there on Friday! xo
Bethany DeVore says June 19, 2014 at 6:24 PM Cantina is one of our favorites too! Their queso is the best! Hope you are feeling better!
