Haven 2014 Recap July 16, 2014 | I had such a blast at Haven in Atlanta this weekend! I am still recovering and recollecting on all of the awesome people I met…and my head is still spinning from all of the things I learned. Whew, blogging really is a lot more complex (and fun!) than most lead on to. So let’s jump right in, shall we? 1. Our Team for the Ballard Designs Table Challenge 2. Just a few of the amazing fabric selections from the Online Fabric Store …beautiful, right? 3. Cooking up breakfast in the new Moen kitchen…who just contacted me today saying that I won a kitchen upgrade!! Stay tuned, lots more from Moen coming! 4. Picturing myself in the new 2015 GMC Yukon Denali …I love our Tahoe, but this pretty thing might have swayed my vote a little. 5. How beautiful are these paint colors specifically for front doors from Modern Masters. Scheming that Navy for our front door! 6. Whitney and her team from The Home Depot REALLY outdid themselves. Their creative and fun set-up and friendly faces, just made me love Home Depot even more! 7. The beautiful Jesse from Scout and Nimble 8. Our coffee table won!!! Ballard Designs here I come! Day 1: Summer and I actually managed to leave Charlotte within an hour of the time we said we would leave Charlotte and arrived in Atlanta right on time. Big win. We then headed straight to the welcome reception and were quick to grab a glass of vino to shake the nerves that we were actually at a blog convention. Excuse me, what? I’m not nearly any kind of legit blogger, but here goes nothing. After that, we headed to dinner at Seasons 52 and I was really really excited because I loved dinners there when we lived in Dallas. By a stroke of amazing luck, I ended up meeting and sharing dinner with Jesse and her incredible team from Scout and Nimble. You guys, I am obsessed with their concept. They’ve scouted the best products and the best designers for you already and you just go in and shop beautiful mood boards and literally have the capability to buy the entire board and recreate the space in your own home! Such a no brainer. Check them out! Day 2: Today was all business in my sessions and there was tons of information that really opened my eyes to how I can make this blog better for you guys. I left inspired and motivated. After lunch we kicked off the Ballard Designs Style Challenge. We were placed with 5 random teammates, given a blank coffee table and made a mad dash for accessories, all to style the table with in under 10 minutes! It was so much fun! That night we headed to dinner downstairs and a great party by Rustoleum . Day 3: After a triple vente Starbucks latte, I was ready to tackle another day. This one was more about the aesthetics of blogging…styling, photography, and image. Right up my alley and fun to hear some of my fav bloggers speak to their tips and tricks. That night we ate a quick bite and got all jazzed up for the Ryobi Cocktail Party. In partnership with The Home Depot, they really rolled out the red carpet for us. Lots of music, food, and and ice cream bar and fondue station?? Signed. Sealed Delivered. The most amazing part about the entire experience was by far and wide the people that I met. I am so inspired by their creativity, humor, and personalities. I truly think that we will all be friends in “real life” and feel so lucky to have met so many awesome women in one weekend. These girls are definitely worth adding to your blog roll! Summer, Simple Stylings…love this girl! Lindsay, The White Buffalo Styling Co…I knew I’d be friends with her right away, totally amazing Kristin, Bliss at Home…her home is one of my favs! Paige, The Pink Clutch…her personality is infectious and her taste impeccable Amanda, Dixie Delights…The most adorable Southern Belle you’ve ever met, and her house is amaze! Emily, Eleven Gables…she cracked me up for 3 days straight. You’ll want to see her kitchen Jennifer, Dimples and Tangles…I’ve long admired Jennifer’s blog and her love of green and gold and sweet spirit made me love her even more! Bethany, Dwellings by Devore…a fellow Charlotte gal, who’s always a treat to be around. Krystine Edwards…this girl cracks me up and is stylish to boot. Angela, blue i style…check our the accent wall she just did in her sons nursery! Aniko, Place of My Taste…she really has such a beautiful blog! Sarah, Life on Virginia Street…she’s beautiful, just like her home! Heidi, Parties for Pennies…you’ve got to see the parties this sweet gal puts together! Michelle, Iron and Twine…the cutest and most stylish mama-to-be ever! Lesley, Chaotically Creative…I cannot tell you how sweet Lesley and her mom were and she had amazing advice to offer! Overall, I am so happy that I took the nose dive that I needed to take into the blogging world in order to move forward with my little baby blog. Hopefully, you will begin to notice the changes (for the good!) around here as I implement important takeaways from the weekend!
