What I Wore: A Trumpet Skirt Two Ways September 3, 2014 | Hi friends! Happy Hump Day! If you need me, I will be curled up in the corner crying because today is LK’s first day of pre-school. Let’s discuss why I thought that this was a good idea again?! I am going to miss my little boops while she’s gone, but I am sure I will get tons of work done and she will have a blast meeting new friends, right? Please say yes! Today is a fashion post with just me (don’t worry LK will be back next week and cuter than ever in her pre-fall duds!). I finally decided to be brave enough to stand in front of the camera by my lonesome and actually write a more fashion related post. I decided that I actually don’t really care what my 4th grade classmate that I’m friends with on Facebook might think…I actually do enjoy pulling together a new outfit and sharing with you guys…so by golly, that’s what I’m going to do…and I’m going to have fun doing it. I think that it has something to do with my looming big birthday, that I’m throwing all caution to the wind. In all seriousness, I think that there are tons of ladies in my same situation, who are begging for help with their wardrobe. We definitely have not given in to mom jeans and souvenir sweatshirts, but maybe we do wear our yoga clothes as real clothes too often and need help getting out of that funk. I’ve said it before, but I don’t wear all designer clothes, buy my seasons pieces on a budget, and shop at accessible retailers (whether in store on online)…so I will be sharing more of these posts as we transition into Fall if you need some inspiration when refreshing your closet. Ever since I scored this Floral Neoprene Trumpet skirt from J. Crew on major sale, I find myself throwing it on for multiple occasions and dressing it up and/or down during any given day. The trumpet silhouette is flattering and easy to wear and you can easily throw it on with a tank top, tee-shirt, or jacket. Here’s how I styled my new favorite trumpet skirt for running around town (with a baseball cap and converse), then an early dinner with girlfriends (fancied up with heels, a statement necklace and cinched the shirt in a little)… Shop the Look: Skirt: J. Crew (still on major sale!) Chambray Shirt: J. Crew Necklace: Old (Similar) Heels: Old (Similar) Hat: J. Crew Shoes: Converse Jewelry: Tassel Bracelet, Link Bracelet < >

Erica McLeod says September 3, 2014 at 11:28 AM I think that you look fantastic, and any of your former fourth grade classmates on facebook will think the same (but who cares what they think anyways!) But I do understand where you are coming from, I have been toying around with the thought of doing some outfit posts that feature photos of me, and I am hesitating. Time for me to take the leap!Ericahttp://www.thedecorina.com
