One Room Challenge: The Big {Powder Room} Reveal! November 6, 2014 | Hi friends! Today is the big day!! The final week of the One Room Challenge and it’s time to spill the beans on how the powder room project finished up. I am happy to say that I totally squeaked in right on time and it’s truly exactly how I envisioned it in my plan. It’s moody and glam, and if it were a girl…she’d be a total Biii-atch. The walls went from stark white to the deepest navy and the fixtures got a major upgrade to brass beauties. The focal of the room is definitely the wallpaper and I couldn’t love it any more if I tried. It’s removable and easy and SO well designed and well made. I’m thrilled that I decided to go with it and am even more happy that I trusted my gut and only did the sink wall. So, here you go, my moody powder room…. In case you are new here and are wondering how I got to this point, make sure to start from week one and follow along through the 6 week process… Week One Week Two Week Three Week Four Week Five I had been eyeing the Wallternatives English Garden by Bari J paper for some time now and finally pulled the trigger for this project. The thought of removable paper has always intrigued me, and to say that this exceeded any expectations that I had about it would be an understatement. I talked about the super easy install last week. If you are in the market for paper, and especially if you are decorating a temporary space, I HIGHLY recommend Wallternatives. I also love this print. The sconces are my other favorite part of the space. I worked on them with Sarah of Lucent Lightshop. I sent her an inspiration photo of some similar sconces in polished chrome and she completely designed and crafted these for me out of solid brass. They are so stunning in person and add a little touch of glam//industrial to the overall moody space. I also decided to keep the wiring where it was prior to the makeover (which is at about 6 ” of the 9” wall) and it really scales the wall down and plays up the drama around the mirror. I really had a hard time photographing a toilet. Style it up until you’re blue in the face and it will never be pretty to me. I did create this DIY abstract art piece for above the toilet though and actually like how it came out. The frame is vintage and sprayed in Design Master’s Brilliant Gold. I’m a huge believer in the notion that it’s the details that make a room complete and I can’t tell you how much I love this aged brass switch plate from Adorne! It completely elevates the style of the room and gives it a major sophisticated touch. I will be blogging a lot more about these gorgeous pieces, as we are going to overhaul our entire downstairs with these amazing new plates and switches. If you dont want to wait until then…I chose the Brushed Brass Wall Plate (comes in a variety of sizes) and the amazing sofTap switches. You should really check out all of the options…it’s funny how excited you will get over switch plates!
