What to Wear for Summer Travel May 7, 2019 | Good Morning! Today I’m working with Nordstrom to talk through a really fun topic: What to Wear for Summer Travel! As Summer approaches and we get ready to head out of town, here are some fun and functional outfit ideas that will keep you cool, calm and collected as you hit the road. I put together 3 outfits based on where I would be traveling and had so much fun dreaming up fun places to travel over the next few months. I hope that you enjoy! What to Wear for Summer Travel: Somewhere Tropical Striped Midi Dress (under $50, wearing S) | Fedora | Sunnies ($16) | Earrings | Slides | Denim Jacket (wearing S) | Weekender Bag Photos don’t even do this midi dress justice. Aside from the fact that it’s UNDER $50 (!!!), it’s absolutely buttery soft and doesn’t lack details. I love the smocked front, muscle cut on the shoulders, super cute criss cross back and forgiving fit elsewhere. I would absolutely throw this on for a flight to Mexico or the Caribbean and would be so comfortable for a day or travel. The good news is that you could easily ditch the denim jacket and add wedges once you got to your destination and be able to hit the ground running in a cute and festive outfit. Striped Midi Dress (under $50) | Fedora | Sunnies ($16) | Earrings | Slides | Denim Jacket | Weekender Bag What to Wear for Summer Travel: Somewhere International V Neck Tank (under $20) | Linen Joggers | Slides | Necklace | Sunnies | Earrings | Silk Neck Pillow | Rose Gold Carryon Suitcase | Denim Jacket We don’t have any International travel planned this year, but boy I wish we did! I’d technically wear this outfit traveling anywhere this Summer, but do see it working particularly well for long, International travel. It’s all together lightweight, easy to wear and very functional. First off, I’m going to gush over this denim jacket for a second. Swear on my life, I’ve been wearing the same denim jacket sine college (that’s nearly 15 years old if you’re into counting) and clearly needed a new one. I really hadn’t found anything I liked and happened to stumble upon this one and knew she was THE ONE. It had a great denim wash with a slight bit of fading in all of the right spots, it’s a wonderful throw on and go piece and the best part is that there some STRETCH to it that allows for the absolute best fit! Trust me on this one…the reviews also agree! The base of the outfit is the cutest linen jogger (so functional for Summer!) that comes in quite a few colors, paired back to my absolute favorite tank. I own the tank in nearly every color that it’s offered in and cannot get enough of the easy and cute fit. I threw on my go to accessories (earrings, necklace), denim jacket, easy slides and felt ready for a day of travel. V Neck Tank (under $20, wearing XS) | Linen Joggers (wearing S) | Slides | Necklace | Sunnies | Earrings | Silk Neck Pillow | Rose Gold Carryon Suitcase | Denim Jacket I’m sure you’ve heard me rave about this combo before but it’s so good that it’s worth sharing again. I finally invested in a nice piece of luggage and can’t understand why I waited SO long. This carryon is by far the most functional and beautiful piece that I’ve ever owned. I show more on Instagram today, but I can EASILY pack for 3-4 days in here (most people could probably pack for a week) and love that the inside flap is totally outfitted for extra storage. What’s REALLY luxurious about this situation is the silk neck pillow. It’s beyond comfortable for a long flight and the silk really helps avoid sleep lines and tangling your hair, so you leave the flight refreshed. It makes an absolutely amazing gift for the traveler. Silk Neck Pillow | Rose Gold Carryon Suitcase What to Wear for Summer Travel: To the Lake / On a Road Trip Stripe Tee | Denim Shorts | Sneakers | Ball Cap | Weekender Bag | Sunnies | Earrings With two small kids, road trips are way more our speed these days. We like to spontaneously hit the road at least one weekend a month during the Summer and cannot wait to see where we land this Summer. Texas has so many great places to explore that we haven’t yet been. First things first here, if you need a weekender bag—this one cannot be beat! The price is well under $100, the size is amazing and my favorite part is the zip around compartment for shoes at the bottom. Totally functional AND stylish. For the outfit I paired a super cute, yet fuss free t-shirt with some of my favorite denim shorts (I reviewed them HERE) and a ball cap. Also adding my new few sneaks…remember the ones with the hidden wedge that totally do wonders for the legs?! Yep, those! Overall, I love this outfit and would be comfy and cute for a long day spent in the car. I hope that wherever you are going this Summer that you have so much fun and travel in style. Have a great week! *Thank you to Nordstrom and ShopStyle for sponsoring this post. All content and ideas are my own and I really appreciate you supporting retailers who support Style Your Senses.
