One Room Challenge: Week 5 // Guest Room Makeover + AN EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT! April 30, 2015 | Hi Friends! Back today for Week FIVE of the #OneRoomChallenge! Can you guys get over this??? Only one week left. I better kick it into high gear over the next few days because realistically it will get photographed early next week…insert panic. If you’re just catching up….I’m currently re-working our guest bedroom and here’s what happened in WEEK 1, WEEK 2, WEEK 3 and WEEK 4! ((If you are brand new to the blog, see all of the One Room Challenges that I have completed below: Media Room , Living Room , Powder Room)) sneak peek! So, I actually have a LOT to show you today and a very very exciting announcement! I met with the gals of New South Home Couture a few months back and not only did I fall in love with the people behind the brand, but also the concept that they have created. New South Home Couture fills a huge void out there in my opinion and offers custom design updates for your home, without having to pay for a full interior design experience. If you’re anything like me, an interior designer is just not in the budget, but on the other hand, I feel like I’m beyond the pre-fab Pottery Barn look, so I can really appreciate custom decor pieces. New South Home Couture offers the perfect solution….they choose on-trend color palettes and coordinating fabrics, as well as paint colors to create beautiful design stories that clients can choose from to easily update their spaces. We all know how much paint color + textiles can update a space…so say you have an existing sofa and rug that you’d like to keep…simply come to the gals at New South Home Couture and they will advise you on which color story will work best for your space and you can easily update it with new drapes, pillows and paint from their gorgeous palettes. It’s quite amazing how these three elements can totally change a room! So, essentially, you’re receiving design expertise, and a personal design experience without the hassle of the full interior design process OR the price tag. Win Win! They offer “Design Workshops” where one of their Design Specialists comes to your home and presents tips, tricks and trends to you and your girlfriends and also offer free one on one consultations with guests to understand their design needs. You can also schedule a one-on-one consultation with a Design Specialist who will come into your home and assess your needs on an individual basis. I’m dying to host a party because really there’s nothing better than your girlfriends, sips, bites and beautiful fabric, right?? And if you don’t want to host a party (or are not local to Charlotte), but simply need some design inspiration, guess what…you’re still in luck! They also offer Room Planners (ie digital moodboards) for only $25 (!!!) that give a whole room look, including suggested accessories and paint colors that are specified by color collection, style, and room function (bedroom, dining room, family room). See an example below… Melissa, the owner and master mind behind New South Home Couture, came yesterday and installed all of my drapes and even showed me some amazing tips and tricks for perfectly hanging your panels. Aside from how beautiful everything is, what I love most about New South Home Couture, is that everything they sell is handmade right here in Charlotte by stay at home moms. I’m so passionate about supporting SAHM’s because I myself have been fortunate to find a job where I can stay home and be mommy and also work and earn money for our family. Each pillow that was delivered yesterday came with a certificate signed by the seamstress who made it and was beautifully packaged to boot. To me, the personal service, local craftsmanship and beautiful product were so worth every little bit of extra money. Now on to the exciting news!!!! Charming in Charlotte has partnered with New South Home Couture to launch an exclusive collection featuring all of the fabrics (plus some!) seen in my One Room Challenge space!!!! It was such a fun process working with these girls to pick out a punchy color palette that really reflects my personality and style, but also one that could work in multiple spaces and as pillows or drapes. SO SO excited to say that the entire collection is now available on their website and you don’t have to be local to Charlotte to purchase it. You can easily re-create my guest room for one of your bedrooms that needs an update, OR you can buy the amazing watercolor floral pillows to update your sofa for summer….the possibilities are endless. The one thing that I can guarantee is that you won’t be disappointed with the quality of the items! And a bonus is that for the month of May the entire collection will be 20% off for Charming in Charlotte readers!!!! Use code 20OFFRASPBERRY at checkout!!! Shop the Room: Drapes: New South Home Couture Watercolor Floral Pillows: New South Home Couture Duvet: PBK Teen Bamboo Side Tables: Target Lamps: Homegoods Chandy: Home Depot So, really all that I have left to do is hang artwork and style the space out. I can’t wait for it all to come together and be a finished space. What do you guys think so far? Do you like our collection? Thanks so much for your continuous support!!! Now, head over to Calling it Home to check out the rest of the linking participants….I’m sure they will knock our socks off this week!! xoxox-
