A Summer Wedding Guest Outfit With Trunk Club June 26, 2018 | Good Morning, guys! How are you? We’ve had a great week this week and I am shocked at how quickly the Summer days fly by. Today I’m partnering with Trunk Club again to show you a very special Trunk that my stylist, Bianca, curated especially for me. This is my third Trunk from Trunk Club and I now feel like I have some definitive take aways that I want to share with you along with a full post detailing what to wear as a summer wedding guest outfit! Among one of the top questions that I get during this time of year is “What to Wear to a Summer Wedding?” The temperatures are tricky, the dress codes are all over the place and you always want to look your best, so I understand why this is a hot topic! I took this question to Trunk Club and asked them if I could write an entire post around it and was thrilled when they agreed, as I think that this service could be really useful for you guys! Instead of my usual #momstyle box, I asked my stylist to curate a Trunk based solely around Special Occassion dressing, specifically with a wedding in mind. Here was my exact Trunk to give you an idea of what she sent: This Trunk arrived to my door and I was able to try it all on in my home, pair different things together and curate looks that would work for nearly any Summer special occasion. I’m highlighting three dresses to give you some style inspiration for a Summer Wedding guest outfit + tips on how to work with your stylist and make your Trunk perfect for you! Summer Wedding Guest Outfit | Bright and Bold Brights are always what I gravitate towards (especially in the Summer months), so it’s no secret that this fit and flare dress was my hands down favorite from this Trunk. It fit like a glove (this is a S) and also fits perfectly within the price range that I’d like to spend on an occasion dress (right around $100). I love the punchy color and this that paired with a bold lip and a few metallic accessories, you’d be the best dressed guest at any Summer Wedding. Trunk Club Tip: Be Color Specific! If there’s a certain color that you feel confident in, make sure to tell your stylist that! If you’d never wear black to a wedding or want to avoid light hues, make sure to let your stylist know. Looking back, I should have requested more in this color family, because it’s my absolute favorite color to wear in the Summer! Trunk Club Tip: Accessories matter One great thing about Trunk Club is that they send accessories too! If you are looking for something specific like a good bold earring or want to step out of your comfort zone, make sure to share that with your stylist. The accessories in this Trunk didn’t suit my style, but I did ask for a good gold shoe, and my stylist definitely delivered with these. I ended up buying them for myself and love the look of the metallic gold and the comfort of the block heel. Summer Wedding Guest Outfit| Going Glam This silky, knot front number had a blow away tulip hem and a mini dress underneath, making for a glam look for a night time wedding. If you’re invited to an evening wedding, it’s definitely an excuse to step it up a notch and go for rich fabrics like silk or satin. Pair them with metallic accessories and glam makeup and you’ll be dancing the night away in style. Trunk Club Tip: Length is key! Since your personal stylist is working with you virtually, it can be hard for them to get an exact feel as to your specific body type when it comes to proportions. For example, I’m more leggy and this dress was too short for me specifically, but everyone has different preferences. The key is talking to your stylist about the length that you’re comfortable with, so that they’re able to send items within your comfort zone. It’s also a good idea to tell her if your proportions differ and maybe you’re longer in the torso or legs. And remember, if an item doesn’t work to to your liking with Trunk Club, that’s ok! You simply send it back with your Trunk at no cost. Summer Wedding Guest Outfit | Understated Chic Not every dress has to be over the top when it comes to color, texture or pattern and it’s quite ok to wear a beautifully tailored, classic dress to any Summer wedding. This dress was so striking and fit beautifully and it came to mind for something that would be perfect to wear postpartum. It’s great for nursing, flattering the waist and flows away perfectly…leaving you feeling beautiful, yet very modest. Trunk Club Tip: Talk with your stylist about your body. Postpartum? Nursing? Don’t really like to show too much leg? Make sure that you’re specific about your needs so that your stylist can curate the perfect selection of dresses in your next Trunk! Remember, you can always try out Trunk Club HERE and they even offer free alterations in any or their 6 Clubhouses or Nordstrom store. You can curate Trunks specifically for an event (like I did above) or have your stylist put a Trunk together for you that’s more lifestyle based…workwear, mom style, summer essentials etc. It’s really a valuable service for all of your busy gals!
