What I Packed | Winter Capsule Wardrobe December 19, 2017 | Hi Friends! I know that you guys are SO busy this week, but I really think that you’ll like this post…so I’m glad you’re here! I know that I’ve promised a Winter Capsule wardrobe post as a follow up to the ever popular Fall Capsule, but to be completely honest, I could not make the time I needed to thoughtfully put one together. The fact is that I’m still really utilizing my Fall Capsule pieces a ton and have just been buying a few things here and working them into my current rotation. As I was packing for our big Holiday trip, I noticed that I was choosing only multi-functional pieces that could work in a few different outfits to give me the most bang for my packing space. Of course at mid-night the night before we left, I decided this would be a great post to share, so excuse the poorly lit photos…I figure you guys are smart enough to get the point and not care about perfectly styled images 😉 So consider this a little “Capsule Refresh” with some truly multi-functional (and very affordable!) pieces that can easily be worked into your closet for a few fresh new outfits to round out these last Winter months. This flounce sweater is super cool because it’s a 2-1 top. The shell can be worn along and is darling for the spring and the sweater is meant to perfectly layer over it with a split back to show the flounce. It’s a top that can be easily dressed up a little or worn with sneakers. Two in One Flounce Sweater Top Left: Black Skinny Jeans (ON SALE for Under $50) / Similar Statement Earrings / Booties Right: Distressed Jeans / Sneakers + Similar Sneakers (less expensive) This flounce top is a brand called English Factory and they offer really on-point styles, most for under $100. See them all HERE. I’ve raved about this lightweight funnel neck tunic before because #1 it’s inexpensive and #2 it’s GREAT for everyday wear. Good for layering or worn alone and very easy to wear 100 ways! Lightweight Waffle Knit Tunic / $39 in 4 colors Left: Sneakers + Similar Sneakers (less expensive) / Distressed Jeans / Hoop Earrings Right: Distressed Jeans / Hoop Earrings / Belt / Booties Every busy gal should have a go-to poncho in her closet. They are effortless and easy to wear over both leggings and jeans and are the first thing I reach for when I want to feel pulled together without very much thought! My exact poncho is now sold out but THIS one would work with the exact same outfits Similar Poncho Top / $59 Left: Black Skinny Jeans (on sale!) / Booties / Gold Hoops / Leopard Clutch (Under $50 clutch option HERE) Right: Faux Leather Leggings / OTK Boots / Gold Hoops / Leopard Clutch (Under $50 clutch option HERE) This lightweight henley has been another great addition to my closet. Very similar to it’s sister roll tab tunic, but not sheer and more of a standard length. It still boasts an easy and flattering fit and can easily be dressed up or down, depending. Lightweight Roll Tab Henley Top / $39 in 6 Colors Left: Dark Skinny Denim / Gold Hoop Earrings / Belt / Booties Right: Black Skinny Jeans / Black Booties (on sale!) / Gold Hoop Earrings / Leopard Clutch (Under $50 clutch option HERE) Y’all have seen me wear this sweatshirt a TON on Instagram and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. It’s fleece lined and a great burnout fabric. It’s been great to wear tons of ways and always SO comfy! Lightweight Swing Sweatshirt / $59 in 4 colors Left: Twine and Twig Necklace / Erin McDermott Necklace / Highwaisted Skinny Jeans / Booties Right: Camo Jogger Pants / Sneakers + Similar Sneakers (less expensive) / Hoop Earrings I know that I’m sort of beating a dead horse with this tunic, butttt I love it and pack it first thing should I be going on a trip. It functions for so many scenarios and is one of my best layering pieces, so naturally I would include it here too. Lightweight Tunic (Under $30) Left: Twine and Twig Necklace / Dark Skinny Jeans / Booties / Gold Hoop Earrings / Belt Right: Tunic Cardigan (On SALE!) / Twine and Twig Necklace /Erin McDermott Necklace / Dark Skinny Jeans / OTK Boots I never know what sort of things I’ll get in to while home for the Holidays so I always try to have a few options with me that could work for something a little more festive like a last minute party or night out with my friends. A velvet cami + black denim is an easy combination and all you have to do is layer a menswear blazer over it for a polished look. Similar Velvet Cami (this EXACT one can be found at Lidl in THIS post) / Black Skinny Jeans / Black Booties (ON SALE!) / Statement Earrings Funny enough, my mom actually called dibs on this top to wear for Christmas. I’ve worn it quite a few times now styled just like this, so I’m letting her give it a spin! It’s perfect with leggings but also great with skinny jeans and booties. Bell Sleeve Tunic Top (on SALE!) / Similar Statement Earrings / Faux Leather Leggings / Black Booties This off the shoulder top is one of my closet staples lately, too. I’ve dressed it down with leggings and sneakers and up a little with jeans and boots. It comes in quite a few colors, so there are endless ways to style it. Off the Shoulder Tunic Top / Faux Leather Leggings / Similar Sports Bra / Sneakers + Similar Sneakers (less expensive) On these long trips home, I always make sure to pack 3-4 athleisure outfit options because there’s lots of lounging at home going on. Ya’ll know that this poncho and wrap sweater are two of my bests, so naturally they came along with me! Left: Black Poncho / High Waisted Leggings / Sneakers + Similar Sneakers (less expensive) Right: 2-1 Cardi + Sweater / High Waisted Leggings / Sneakers + Similar Sneakers (less expensive) When I’m traveling and not sleeping at my own home, I love packing lounge clothes that double as pajamas! This set is my absolute favorite…I wore them in THIS post. Cozy Lounge Pants + Softest Lounge Top / Slipper Socks Hopefully this was helpful! What do you guys think? A few fun refreshers that can easily be worked into your closet and can be worn lots of different ways. If you’ve missed the Fall Capsule, there are lots of pieces still in stock so you can really craft a fresh start if that’s what you need. See it HERE.
