How to Style Spanx Leggings for Fall! September 19, 2017 | Ok, this is another post that I’m super excited about! First, because I’m LOVING these Spanx Leggings (like legit wondering how I’ve lived without them until now) and secondly because this post was brought fourth from a conversation with an old friend! Truly one of my favorite things about this blog is the connections that it affords me…both with strangers, new people and old friends that I can be back in touch with. Just so happens that one of my good friends from college reads the blog (Hey Holly!) and asked me to help her out styling these Spanx Leggings. First, you should all know that she’s a darling mama to 3 babies and she doesn’t need ANY help with fashion (we were both Fashion majors at LSU), so I was flattered that she thought of me for this. She loved the fit of this faux leather pair but was stuck on making them functional, so I thought that it would be an awesome idea for a post and I was excited to try and review these leggings…because I’m all about that control + compression legging life 😉 First I feel like I should thank you Holly for introducing me to these bad boys. Woah nelly, they are slimming and still look stylish and polished! These aren’t your “I’ve just rolled out of bed leggings”…no ma’am…these are your “hey girl hey!” leggings! They nip, tuck, and slim #allthethings, making for one heck of a flattering fit. If you don’t believe me, they have over 600 near perfect reviews HERE. p.s. There’s a GIVEAWAY to win $100 to buy your own pair at the end of this post! So, now that we know that the fit is on point, let’s talk about how to make them work in your closet. I totally understand that the faux leather look can make them a little intimidating, leaving you wondering how you can possibly wear these outside of a weekend date night. So, I headed to Nordstrom and was able to not only choose from the best selection of Spanx leggings, but they also had tons of amazing (and affordable) pieces to style them with. Turns out these leggings are super easy to style and still soft and comfortable enough to wear casually. Here are three great Fall transition outfits and some ideas on how to style these Spanx leggings, making them well worth your investment… First up, a super casual look. I would legit wear this to school drop off, but can also appreciate the elevated look that the leggings give the outfit. I paired them back to a simple cowl neck, side slit tunic and some chic high top sneaks for a casual look that’s as cute as it is comfortable. Faux Leather Control Leggings | Cowl Neck Sweater (in 4 colors) | Sneakers (Similar More Affordable High Top Sneakers) | Similar Bag | Gold Watch | Aviators Fit info: I’m wearing a M. They are snug and feel like…well, Spanx…to get on. This is definitely the right size for me though because they make clean, smooth lines once on. So, I would say that they run TTS! Shop all Golden Goose sneakers HERE. I love this tunic sweater #1 because it’s SO soft and cozy, but secondly because it fully covers my toosh. That’s a non-negotiable for me when wearing leggings…my top must cover my behind…which is why I own so many tunics. Again, this sweater is another piece that gets rave reviews online and comes in 4 great Fall hues. The one I’m wearing is a M and I’m thinking that I need to order that burgundy color before it sells out! Turn on your JavaScript to view content Next, let’s take it up just a bit. This is an outfit that I would wear to a casual dinner or lunch, an outing with girlfriends, some weekend shopping or even a daytime event. I love the layering in this outfit, especially because I’m wearing my go-to $27 tunic here and it’s a GREAT base piece for Fall outfits like this. Faux Leather Control Leggings | $27 Tunic (tons of colors) | Black Sweater Vest | Booties | Similar Bag | Felt Hat ($39 in 4 colors) Turn on your JavaScript to view content I wore this same sweater vest last week on the blog and am wearing it again here. I wasn’t lying when I said that it’s going to be one of my favorite pieces of the season. It’s lightweight, but still heavy enough to give some warmth and adds such great depth and dimension to almost any outfit. (See last week’s post and how I styled it HERE) Also, if you are on the hunt for a good Fall bootie…look no further! These really are the perfect shape (hello pointed toe making my legs look longer) and I love the higher ankle fit, allowing jeans or leggings to easily tuck inside and stay put. I really do love all of these looks, but if I *had* to choose, this one would be my favorite. I loved the way the layers worked together. I felt comfortable and chic and loved how affordable all of the pieces are! Last, but certainly not least, we are taking these bad boys on a date night!! I’m just warning you, I think that these might catch your significant others attention. For a date night, I paired the Spanx Leggings with this convertible off the shoulder sweater and my over the knee boots. It’s an understated look that’s still sexy and flattering. Think dinner date, concert, Holiday Party, class reunion, etc. Faux Leather Control Leggings | Convertible Neckline Sweater ($54 in quite a few colors) | Leopard Clutch | Similar OTK Boots | Felt Hat ($39 in 4 colors) | Gold Earrings ($35 + incredibly lightweight) | Aviators Turn on your JavaScript to view content What I love about this sweater (aside from the $54 price tag!) is that it’s also multi-functional. You can take it off the shoulder for date night, but wear it as a cowl neck for everyday. It’s super practical to buy (in multiple colors) and a great length to wear styled over leggings. Can’t see yourself in the leather version no matter what? No worries, Spanx has a ton of options! I think that these will be my next purchase! For a plain black legging though, you won’t find me straying from my tride and true favorite, which are also an amazing price! Ok, which was was your favorite?? These are definitely all outfits that I will be wearings throughout the Fall and can’t wait to find new ways to style these super versatile leggings. Now on to the really fun part! Want to win $100 in PayPal cash to buy your own pair of Spanx Leggings??? Clearly, you can spend it on whatever you choose, but I thought with all of the talk about these leggings, I’d give someone a chance to win their own!
