Beauty Favorites + 5 Minute Mom Makeup

I’m going to be honest, beauty didn’t knock my socks off this year. There were some things that I loved, but normally I get into a lot more trouble. That being said, it was really easy for me to create a super concise list of my absolute favorites…all things that I would or did buy. I also partnered with my gal pal Lindsey to put my top pick (the Smashbox All-in-One Kit) to good use and show you guys how you can use it literally everyday to apply a flawless 5 Minute Mom Face! A must watch if you’re a busy mama!

One | Nars Cheek Palette // Sale Price: $59 | $175 Value

People absolutely rave about the two larger colors in this palette (Hot Sand + Laguna). They are two of the highest rated bronzer colors out there so achieve a natural looking glow. I’ve never owned either, but know that each color on it’s own is nearly $40, so getting an entire palette full for $50 is a total steal! I love how you can transition these cheek colors from Summer to Winter too with the varying shades!

Two | Mac Mini Lip Kit // Sale Price $26.50 | $40 Value

This was one of my top picks in the store! For $26 you get 4 colors total that are awesome everyday neutrals. I think that something like this is perfect to buy two sets of and keep one in your makeup bag to apply initially and then one set in your purse to reapply during the day. For just over $50, you will save yourself a ton of trouble and have a great neutral color + gloss to apply throughout the day.

Three | Voluspa Candle Set // Sale Price $26.50 | $40 Value

This is one of my absolute picks year after year! For $26 you get 5 candles that are great to have on hand. I always keep them in stock, along with cellophane bags and cute ribbon so that I can throw together a really cute and easy teacher gift, hostess gift or a small birthday gift in a pinch. Everyone loves them and at about $5 a piece on sale, you really can’t beat it!

Four | Bobbi Brown Eyes + Cheeks Palette // Sale Price $98 | $365 Value

This palette gets rave reviews and really is a one stop shop for the girls who love high quality beauty. This palette will last you for multiple years and it offers such great neutrals to create a full face.

Five | MAC Basic Brush Kit // Sale Price $49.50 | $162 Value

If you don’t have nice brushes yet, they are KEY. Snag this basic set from MAC as a great starting point to build off of!

Six | Smashbox All in One Kit // Sale Price $49 | $94 Value

This is truly the best value in my opinion! Perfect for the busy mom and for under $50 you can fill your makeup bag with great quality essentials to use daily. See below for our full 5 minute face video!

Seven | Aveda Hair Essentials Collection // Sale Price $39 | $68 Value

I bought this and absolutely love it. Aveda products are hands down my personal favorite and this is a great sampler. I had never tried the Air Control hair spray before and…let’s just say you’ll need the full sized bottle because it’s THAT good!

Eight | Beachwaver Curling Wand // Sale Price $167 | $250 Value

Okay, my friend Lauren absolutely raves about this thing! Her hair is always on point so I’m super intrigued. The beauty of it is that it actually twirls the hair up for you according to which way you want it to curl (either towards or away from your face). The reviews are amazing so I’m thinking that I need to give this thing a whirl (#seewhatIdidthere)…lol.

Now on to the FUN part! My friend Lindsey and I teamed up to put together this fun little tutorial on how to use one of our favorite Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Beauty buys! Lindsey is kind of like a celebrity here in Charlotte. She’s the go-to girl for amazing hair and makeup and my girl is in high demand. On top of that she’s a gorgeous mama of two and is hysterical and relatable. If you don’t already follow her blog, you should.

Lindsey met me at Nordstrom one day and we carefully chose which palette we felt gave people the best bang for their buck. It was easy to decide on this Smashbox one because you literally do get everything you need…eyes, lips, etc…for UNDER $50!!!

For reference, I had my foundation on as well as concealer and bronzer...but I knew that we would get chatty (and I looked real scary on camera without it), so I put that on ahead of time. I know that the video is definitely longer than 5 minutes, but Lindsey gives lots of tips and tricks on how to apply so that you can perfect your technique. From beginning to end I would say this will take you 8 minutes if you’re a newbie and can easily be widdled down to 5 minutes from bare face to what we achieved in the video. I know that I say this all of the time, but the time that I take to do my makeup daily is a non-negotiable. It makes me feel awake and confident and I am able to pass that confidence along through a happy attitude, friendly smile, etc. It really does give me an extra pep in my step, so I feel like it’s 5-10 minutes well spent!
