Fitting Room Files: LOFT + HUGE Flash Sale! June 8, 2017 | Hi Guys! I’m writing a bit of an off the cuff post because there’s a huge LOFT flash sale that I thought you guys might want to take advantage of! Last week on Insta-stories I asked where you like to online shop. I asked it for two reasons…the first being that with a new baby I am online shopping a TON more and wanted to know your secrets and second I had an idea for some fun new content and wanted to know what you think. It’s no secret that I plan to nurse Lawson for as long as I can (hopefully to a year), and one thing I need to make sure of is that nursing doesn’t make me bitter. That sounds strange right? Let me clarify. When nursing, I feel like it really determines everything about your day…what you can wear, what your schedule is like, what type of bra you’re wearing, how you feel, when you sleep and (for some) even what you eat. For me, it also affects my blog/business in a way because I’m not able to appeal to everyone with what kind of clothes I’m wearing since most will be #nursingfriendly. Over the past few weeks I started to feel sad and a little frustrated by it, wondering how I would continue helping you guys find style inspiration and also feeling inspired myself. So I came up with this idea (The Fitting Room Files) that I thought I would try out! You will send me on a mission (we will determine how often) to pick out, try on, and review the absolutely cutest pieces in stores so that you can order them from the comfort of your couch. It’s a win for me because I get to get out of the house, get shopping, play dress up and style lots of cute looks…which I love. And it’s a win for you because you probably don’t find the aforementioned as fun as I do and I’ll make looking cute and ordering online easy and stress free! What do you guys think???? The first store that I’m covering is LOFT and they are having a massive Flash sale until 3am ET on Friday, so you’ll have to blaze through and make sure to place your order! Most tops and shorts are around $25 on sale (!!!) and the dresses $40-50. Some of the pieces I reviewed are a part of it and some aren’t, but there’s definitely a lot to check out. Fit Info: I’m 5’9 / 155 lbs right now and would definitely consider myself curvy. I’m wearing a size M or an 8 in these photos unless otherwise noted This dress kept catching my eye online and I had to get in and try it on! It’s SO adorable and a great, easy fit. I would definitely size down because the M was even a little big on me (especially in the arm holes). Check out the top version too, I linked it below. Bandana Pom Dress | Blouse version If I weren’t post baby this jumpsuit would have been in my cart right away! I love the light chambray color and fluid lightweight fabric. I think it’s the cutest Summer staple. Sadly, it’s probably a better fit if you don’t have curves. Chambray jumpsuit If you live in a climate where the Summer’s are mild–snag this sweater asap! It’s awesome, but just too warm for me here in the South. PS: these shorts get perfect reviews and get my seal of approval too! Stripe Tunic Sweater | Denim Shorts This powder blue eyelet top was one of my favorites. It’s girly and dainty and I loved the fit (not too blousy). Would be adorable for Summer styled with white denim. Eyelet Powder Blue Top | Denim Shorts This denim shirt was heavier than a traditional chambray, but I loved how you could wear it completely off the shoulder or with the little ties at shoulder. An awesome basic and its a great price today! These fluid shorts are great for postpartum but might be a little too blousy otherwise. Size down if you want to try them. Off the Shoulder Denim Top (sale on sale!) | Drawstring Stripe Shorts This maxi would be beautiful for a beach vacay. The colors are gorgeous and the fit is easy. For me personally, I rather it without the tie, but here’s how it looks both ways. Stripe Maxi (sale on sale!) Stripe Maxi (sale on sale!) These stripe tie waist shorts are SO cute and were actually one of the pieces that I bought that day. They are a darling fit and I love how the stripes are vertical instead of horizontal, makes a big difference in how slimming they are. Off the Shoulder Denim Top (sale on sale!) | Stripe Shorts (sale on sale) This was definitely one of my favorite tops from the day! It has a laid back, boho feel but the flutter sleeves still make it feminine! Snag this one for $25! PS: these shorts get perfect reviews and get my seal of approval too! Striped Tassel Top | Off the Shoulder Version | Denim Shorts Wasn’t crazy about this dress for street wear (too see through) but thought that it might make a cute beach cover up. Off the Shoulder Tassel Dress I love the print on this maxi dress! It’s actually nursing friendly because of the shoulder ties and has an awesome statement back! The flounce ruffle at bottom was a great style detail, too! Again, I prefer it without the tie… Wildflower Maxi Dress Wildflower Maxi Dress Wildflower Maxi Dress Here’s the romper version… Wildflower Romper Okay what did you guys think about this? Helpful? Send me suggestions as to how I can make it better! I’m going to ask more questions about it in future posts, but I think that this will be a fun series to start until I’m back in the saddle of wearing normal clothes 😉 Turn on your JavaScript to view content
Jackie T. says June 8, 2017 at 10:36 AM Good Morning! Excited about this new series, love it! In the future posts could you also include the sizes you have on of each item if it’s not too much trouble?? I know juggling two kids in the dressing room is not easy! 😉 Thanks, looking forward to seeing more!
Gentry Adams says June 8, 2017 at 1:10 PM Fitting room posts are some of my favorites! I love the last romper on you!
Emma says June 8, 2017 at 2:08 PM Thanks for this post! I’d much rather have you try everything on!! Question.. are you wearing a tall in the striped maxi? I love the length on you but I’m only 5’7 so I don’t know if I shoulder order a tall or regular.. I like my maxis long and not ankle swingers. ????
Connor Macon says June 8, 2017 at 2:18 PM Love this idea! And very helpful! One idea would be to include items that did not work and why – always helps to have both sides of the story.
Amy says June 8, 2017 at 4:53 PM I like your idea and how creative you are with your blog, but I hate to think that you are possibly feeling pressure to avoid nursing/pregnancy topics just to please your audience. I encourage you to live your truth as much as possible (I love your Insta stories!) and as a soon to be first-time mom myself, I would love more on these topics from you!
Jen V. says June 8, 2017 at 5:45 PM Love this! As a working mom to a 1 year old, it’s so hard to get out to the mall, so shopping online is the only way I can keep my wardrobe up to date. This post was awesome and covered so many of the details I myself consider when trying on clothes. Thank you, thank you!
