10 Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas! November 16, 2016 | Okay ladies, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone just a little here. I’m sharing 10 Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas in super informal post hoping to offer you guys some last minute, and real time inspiration when planning what you’re going to wear next week. To be completely honest, I’m pretty overwhelmed with all things Holiday, and couple that with being extremely tired from pregnancy, the truth is that I couldn’t get my life together in time to have this post photographed. Photographing these 10 looks would have involved hair and makeup, sorting and loading all of this into my car, shooting for 2-3 hours (changing each time in my backseat) and then unpacking everything only to sit down for another 4-5 hours to write a post. The thought of it all completely overwhelmed me and I decided to try something new that was a better fit for my “real life” at the moment. So…here I am with only my i-phone, really awful lighting and super grainy photos, but I’m hoping (and praying actually) that you guys get the idea and can look past it all and take away some fab Thanksgiving outfit ideas! Would love your feedback on posts like this! Love it or hate it, I promise…I want to know! This first look is super preppy and a great outfit for a more relaxed Thanksgiving with close family and/or little kids involved. You are guaranteed to be comfy in these flat booties and boyfriend plaid shirt and the vest allows you to shed layers should the weather warm. Plaid Shirt | Puffer Vest | Distressed Skinny Jeans | Flat Booties | Cross Body Bag This is probably one of my favorite looks from the post because it incorporates all of my current favorite pieces. The ivory tunic layered with the plum cardigan is such a festive combo and I love how the lengths collide with the OTK boots. Plum Tunic Cardigan | Ivory Tunic Top | Distressed Skinny Jeans | Over the Knee Boots (on sale and in stock!) | Felt Floppy Hat Remember that I talked about this cold shoulder tunic sweater in last weeks Friday Edit??? Well, I bought it to review for you guys and have to say that I REALLY like it. The length is perfect for skinny jeans or leggings (I tried it on with both below) and the cold shoulder adds an unexpected detail. It’s SO cute to wear for Thanksgiving and continue wearing into Christmas. It comes in a ton of colors, too! Over the Knee Flat Boots (ON SALE and IN STOCK!) Cold Shoulder Sweater Tunic | Statement Necklace |Distressed Skinny Jeans |Over the Knee Boots (on sale and in stock!) |Felt Floppy Hat | Olive Cross Body Bag My obsession with this moto jacket continues and here I paired it with my go-to tunic and tights to really dress up these super basic pieces. *Tip for you gals who carry weight through the hips like moi…I often find that cropped jackets like this simply are not flattering on me because they cut me off right at the wrong point. The trick is to wear a tunic underneath to create more of an illusion of and draw the eye down away from the hips. Clean lines allow the focus to be on the jacket and not the curves 😉 Ivory Tunic Top | Faux Leather Moto Jacket (Under $100 in 4 colors!) |My Favorite Leggings | Over the Knee Flat Boots (ON SALE and IN STOCK!) The color combinations in this outfit scream Thanksgiving to me and I love that these layers allow me to eat alllllll of the desserts that my heart desires. The grey tunic is one of my go to pieces (remember I wore it recently in this post, too?) and it’s the perfect sweater to pair with this rust colored cardigan. I added some heeled booties (on sale) for height and threw on my favorite cross body to finish this casual + cool option. Grey Turtleneck Tunic | Oversized Rust Cardigan | Distressed Skinny Jeans | Suede Booties (ON SALE and IN STOCK!) | Cross Body Bag You guys have been going gaga over this cape along with me…I still can’t get over that it’s reversible and under $50! I layered it over the same tunic turtleneck from the post before and threw on my favorite felt hat and over the knee boots. This look felt the most festive and cosy and definitely hides all of the food 😉 Reversible Plaid Cape (Under $50!) |My Favorite Leggings |Distressed Skinny Jeans | Grey Turtleneck Tunic |Over the Knee Boots (on sale and in stock!) | Felt Floppy Hat This was another look that felt super festive. There’s just something about a faux fur vest that screams “Holiday” to me! This neutral vest was easy to layer and accessorized and made for a chic and non-fussy outfit that I felt great in! Ivory Tunic Top | Faux Fur Vest | Distressed Skinny Jeans | Over the Knee Boots (on sale and in stock!) | Felt Floppy Hat You guys are likely SO sick of hearing how amazing this sweater is, but I’m going to say it again! THIS SWEATER IS AMAZING! It’s under $50, a great tunic length and feels like you’re wearing butter it’s so soft! I kept it simple with this outfit because I was so comfy in the sweater that I didn’t want to make things fussy… Olive Green Tunic Sweater (softest of ever and Under $50!) | Distressed Skinny Jeans | Over the Knee Boots (on sale and in stock!) I tried some different layering with this look and actually wasn’t quite sure how I felt about it until I saw the photos. I layered the go-to tunic under the boyfriend sweater (to cover the tush) and paired them with leggings and booties. A different sort of layered outfit that’s uber comfortable and has a punch with the merlot booties! Ivory Tunic | Oversized Sweater | My Favorite Leggings | Merlot Booties | Leopard Beanie This is another great outfit if your Thanksgiving dinners are fairly casual. I pulled out one of my favorite (and ancient) button up’s and made it pop with the plum tunic cardigan. I threw on my favorite flat booties to continue to continue the casual look and really like how all of these colors (with the pop of leopard) mix together. Plum Tunic Cardigan | Leopard Button Up Shirt (Similar) | Distressed Skinny Jeans | Flat Booties | Olive Cross Body Bag So, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, I used a LOT of the same pieces over and over and those are based on what I know a lot of you have recently purchased (tunic sweaters and cardigan) and already own (ivory tunic and leggings)…we will call these THANKSGIVING BASICS…. Jackie T. says November 17, 2016 at 8:40 PM Hi there, I think these type of posts are great and I like “keeping it real” ya know? I have that tunic in black and olive and just adore it too! I have a tailor at my Nordstrom that stitches up the opening at the bottom about an inch from the back side…you can’t tell at all from the front and the side that crosses over in the front still looks open…I hope that makes sense..LOL, anyway, I can wear the tunics without a cami this way. But definitely a cami with this ivory…which I think I may need to add to my collection now! 🙂 The tan moto jacket I tried on in the store recently…did you find it was a bit stiff at first and if so has it softened up any? It looks fantastic on you!
Style Your Senses says November 17, 2016 at 10:01 PM Jackie– This is genius!!! Totally going to try this! And I sort of expected the jacket to be a little still solely because of the weight of it…but it’s not uncomfortable for me at all! xo
Jackie T. says November 24, 2016 at 12:09 PM Hey, the Lush tunic is on sale today 11/24 for $22.31through 11/28! Good stock of colors and sizes too! Happy Thanksgiving Y’all!
