Style Your Senses
A Life + Style Blog for the modern millennial who wants it all.

Hi Friends! How was your week?? These last few weeks have been a total blur for me but lots of exciting things happening! My parents were in town last weekend and we took them on a quick trip to Asheville (so fun!) and my sweet pea started school on Tuesday! That means that I have had all week to plan and write and actually focus on the blog and I cannot tell you how great it felt…
That being said, I wanted to take a second to tell you guys how much I appreciate you. I appreciate you coming here everyday and supporting this daydream of mine. This Summer was probably one of the biggest challenges for me with the blog and I’m just so thankful that I made it out on the other side. See, I like to still consider myself a stay at home mom. On the other side of the coin, the blog requires 40+ hours of my time a week and fulfills me creatively like nothing I’ve ever dreamed. It’s a blessing bigger than I could have ever imagined to get to talk about what I’m passionate about and help women find clothes that they feel confident in. Even though I’ve been blogging basically full time for well over a year now, I’ve still struggled to give up that “stay at home mom” title. Always feeling the tug at my heartstrings when I hired a babysitter to come stay with Landry while I worked or when I considered sending her to school 4 days a week instead of 3. I’ve cried about it more times than I can count and (until now) I’ve refused to give it up. Instead, I would wake up at 4:30-5am to work and then stay up until past midnight finishing things and all day my mind was spinning through to-do lists and my neglected inbox. This Summer was a turning point for me. I was exhausted beyond my limits and realized that it was time to rip the bandaid and shift just a bit more of my focus towards the blog. I know that I can’t have the very BEST of both worlds…I will have to give up some precious time with my sweet girl to help fuel the business that I am passionate about, BUT what I will gain is a clear mind and be able to focus when I AM with her. Why is that so hard to even type? Mom guilt is so so real, y’all.
All of that being said, I wanted to give you a big virtual hug. A hug for supporting me all of these years and helping me to understand what it was like to truly and whole-heartedly love your job. I will have quite a bit more time to focus on the blog in the coming seasons and I really want to hear from you. I see you guys coming and going, but am really asking for more of your input. More feedback (negative or positive) and more of what you’d like to see. Please reach out via the comment section (I try to reply to every single one) or via email. Thank you, again. I love you guys in a big big way.
Whew, that was a heavy start to The Friday Edit, right?! Sorry about that! Back to the fun stuff and more of what happened on zee blog this week…
Fall 2016 Color Trends | You guys loved learning more about what colors are trending for Fall and are sharing my love for the Merlot’s and Deep Blues! I’m excited to continue infusing these colors into up-coming outfit posts and showing you multiple ways to style them! See the full post HERE, including over 60 color trend pieces that you can buy now to update your wardrobe for Fall.
This chic street style outfit was also a hit! Lots of unexpected layering and yet even more ways to wear two of my closet staples….the pleated leather skirt and the bomber jacket! See the full post HERE.

Now, as part of the feedback situation we discussed….THIS post didn’t do so well. I could have sworn you guys would love this dress, but there wasn’t much interaction with it at all. Was it because you’ve already seen it on Instagram? Would love more insight! If you did miss it, all of the details on this darling girly dress are HERE.

I posted these fab over the knee boots on Instagram and when you guys saw the sale price you liked them too! They are only a 2′ heel (hello, comfy!) and come in 4 colors. They are also marked down to $179 from $300!! Total deal for winter boots!

These two darling dresses were part of my Fall shopping haul last week and you guys seemed to share my love for them via Instagram. Both are dresses that can be worn now AND later…think denim jackets, long cardigans and tights. Both are cute with your favorite suede bootie and felt hat, too! p.s. both are currently 40% off, too!!!!
Merlot Lace Dress (40% off!) | Floral Dress (40% off!) | Mules | Bracelet Stack
I made a recipe super similar to this one over the week and it was SO yummy! I have such a thing for bowls lately…dinner bowls, breakfast bowls…you name it! This Mexican Bowl was a total hit with my family!
How stinkin’ cute is this little mock turtle neck floral dress?? I die over it! It’s also only $66 and SO cute with booties or OTK booties! Shop it HERE.
Okay, I have a real question for you guys…I’m dying for an olive bag this Fall! Problem is that I’ve fallen completely in love with two of them and I need you guys to be the tie breakers. They are both amazing in their own rights. Option 1 I already own in the blush color and it’s hands down the best bag I’ve ever purchased, so I would buy a second color without hesitation. Option 2 is crossbody only and a little smaller but I LOVE the details. The strap is also interchangable! Okay, vote now!!
Option 1 | Option 2
Okay, I’m not planning to do a full Fall home tour this year. I just can’t get into it, which is really sad. BUT this image is giving me life to spruce up our front porch. Maybe I should keep my focus there and go all out. Isn’t this beautiful??
Juuuust in case you are wondering these are nearly the EXACT same boots as the $795 Stuart Weitzman version. Just a friendly FYI before you go and spend that kind of cash 😉
Shop the boots HERE.
Oh my good gracious! Have you guys seen this gorgeous canopy bed from PB Teen?? Holy amazing on all levels, and actually not as expensive as I would have thought…certainly cheaper than getting a seamstress to do it.
Sales + Steals:
If you guys slept on these jeans during the Anniversary Sale, they are now marked down and are still amazing! Truly such a great jean and so trend right for Fall. They are still stocked in all sizes, so hurry!

Can’t get enough of the Southwestern Chic look and this squash blossom really plays into that. It’s also been marked down HALF OFF, to $34 so that doesn’t hurt either!
Squash Blossom Collar $34 (from $68!)
In my humble opinion, EVERYone needs a good leopard pump, especially for Fall. These babies are marked down from $129 to $79!!! All sizes in stock…now run to shop them HERE!
