Style Board Series Volume 1 | Week 2 January 31, 2017 | Hola! Today I’m back with another Style Board Series and am serving up your requests for more #CarpoolChic, plus some workwear options! First, I want to thank you SO much for the love on yesterday’s post. I so appreciate your support over these past 30 days and was so happy to end my Whole30 on a high by paying it forward to someone who might want to embark on their own journey. I hope the post continues to serve as a resource for you guys and cannot wait to hear more of your stories! Now let’s jump right into some closet inspo! If this is your first time seeing this post, don’t worry you aren’t too far behind. I just launched this Style Board Series last week and really want it to serve as a weekly source of inspiration for you guys who stand there in your closet and wonder what to wear each day. All of the outfits are put together and meant to be easy, relatable and affordable and many of the pieces will be used over and over again…so you can think of it as a weekly rolling capsule wardrobe in a sense. Read ALL of the details HERE. When I asked for your input and suggestions, here were your responses in order: #1 Carpool Chic or Mom Style Outfits #2 Workwear #3 Date Night #4 Cute Everyday / Girl’s Day Outfits (dressier than Mom Style, but not quite date night) So, here we go with a great Mom Style look that I’m showing you how to dress down for carpool + errands and up a little for a coffee or lunch date with a friend. I bought this little layered tunic and absolutely love love love it. It’s super lightweight and great to layer with now, but light enough to take you into Spring. It comes in 3 colors and is under $50, so that helps with why I love it so much! It’s also versatile enough to style more “athleisure” with your favorite tights and sneakers or dress up a bit with skinny jeans and a polished loafer. Either look can be paired back to simple gold hoops and this blush hobo. Top is off with a neutral pink lip and you’re out of the door! JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Layered Tunic (3 colors | $49!) | High Waisted Leggings (my all time favs) | Grey Suede Sneakers | Tan Suede Loafer Flats | Distressed Skinnies | My Go-to Gold Hoops | Best Neutral Gloss | Blush Hobo Bag **Want to see other ways to style the leggings, sneakers, denim, baseball hat, and gloss? Check out last week’s post! Next up is workwear! Granted, I have not worn office clothes in nearly 5 years, but I’m having a blast taking a stab at what I would wear to a corporate job. In my book workwear does not have to be boring and black. Women are powerful, colorful and should be able to express their style not only outside of work but within the walls of a 9-5 job. I fell in LOVE with this mod stripe dress (it reminded me of THIS ONE that I styled this Fall) and also love how the designer was so conscious of accenting the female body. The stripes are placed in such a way to highlight and flatter. Think about wearing a crew neck sweater over the top and using the bottom half as a pencil skirt. You can also wear it with a tunic vest for a very “Olivia Pope” look. Add some statement earrings, a bold lip and your trusty tote (this one is my FAV work tote) and you are ready to tackle to board room, girl! JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Style Board Series! Keep your suggestions coming! -xoxo Don’t forget to save the image below to your Style Board Series Pinboard! See mine HERE!
Kelly says January 31, 2017 at 4:19 PM Hi Mallory, Just wanted to let you know that for the past two weeks when I have Googled your blog to go read it and the search link comes up, it goes to your Friday post from January 20th. If I use the link in profile from Instagram I can get to your blog but I thought you might want to know. I am in San Jose, CA and use Google to get to all the blogs I read and have only had a problem with yours. Thanks for the great content BTW. I truly appreciate when bloggers put so much effort into their posts and continue to maintain their voices!
