ONE ROOM CHALLENGE- THE BIG REVEAL! November 7, 2013 | Oh my. Here we are at week SIX and it’s time for the big reveal! If you are just joining in you can catch up here with Week 1. Week 2. Week 3. Week 4. and Week 5. but here’s the short and sweet. I have this big (like 400 sq feet big, ya’ll) media room space thing that was a total dumping ground and general hot mess since our move almost a year ago. I desperately needed to kick it into gear and into a super functional space. I needed a comfortable and inviting place for guests to sleep, a fun and interesting play area for our baby girl and an inspiring work space for moi. Kind of alot to ask right? I know. And then throw in there the six week deadline and I am bonafide crazy. I know this too. Well, somehow, some way…along with lots of wine and bribing my husband (and/or anyone else who would take the bait)…the shiz got done. Boom. I can’t tell you how happy I am that it’s a finished, functional space. I’m no dummy…I know that you didn’t come here to hear me ramble so let’s get to the photos. ((Beware of photo overload...sorry i’m not sorry)) P.S. I will be back in future posts to break down the cost, the DIYs, and the sources…so stay tuned! If I had to guess I would say that it came in between $500-$700. Double boom. Tahhh-dahhhh Let’s start with the guest space. Is this pillow not the best thing ever?! I went to Jamie literally yesterday, frazzled with fabric, a pillow, and tears…and she whipped up this beauty in 30 minutes. Thank you sweet friend! …and now to the play space…. …both inexpensive and impactful DIYs that I will share! …and the work space…((done right in time because (as of this week) I have some very exciting work news to share with you guys!! Say whaaaa?? I know! …and this, my lady friends, is what I would call the “money shot.” I love it more than I can even type to you. I set her down and she immediately went to town and owned her space. she looked around and was so curious, she immediately swiped her hand across the chalk board, she ruffled the rug, and slung the toys from here to kingdom come. and it was just what I wanted. In the end, I am definitely no professional interior designer, but I had an absolute blast putting this space together. And although I despised the 6 week deadline most days everyday, it was really the only way to kick my behind in gear. On top of a finished room, it was such an honor to be among such amazingly talented and supportive women! You guys rock! Thanks so much for following along and I sure hope that you’ll come back and visit my little corner of the blog world sometime again soon!! Again, be sure to check out our amazing hosts.
