Landry’s Hot Air Balloon First Birthday Brunch April 28, 2014 | Today I’ll be over on Project Nursery sharing LK’s first birthday party with them and I wanted to share with you guys as well! If you are are stopping by for the first time, welcome! Kick off your shoes, poke around, say hello! If not, you know that our girl is almost 15 months now and I am such a slacker for just publishing this. Back to the party…Quite a few months before I should have even been thinking about planning a first birthday party, I stumbled upon some scrap fabric with the most adorable and whimsical hot air balloon print and I was smitten. “Time Flies When You’re Having Fun!” was the theme we decided to go with to tie it all in…and it couldn’t have been more true. I also decided on a pastel color scheme with gold accents, as it just seems fitting for my little lady since her nursery is very similar. We picked an early start time of 10:30am, that way we were able to serve brunch and the babes were home in time for their afternoon nap…it worked out perfectly. See below for sources, DIY links and more details… I ended up designing the invites, as I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted. I sent them out in gold foil lined envelopes. But really, the most fun part was the hot air balloon photo shoot. How cute?! These powdered donut cakes are so easy to assemble and add great height to a dessert table. First birthdays are such a great excuse to finally print all of the photos that have been accumulating over the year. See this post for which app I used and love. The sign in was a fun and easy DIY, I just printed a basket onto a white paper and matted it onto foam board. We then asked each babe and parents to use the ink to place their fingerprint as a “balloon,” and sign their name in it. Such a fun way to remember our guests. Those gold trays, one of my favorite Target Dollar Spot finds…I have a couple, too that I spray painted gold and they're constantly being used. : )
