Chic Home Office and Playroom Combination | BSHT April 22, 2016 | Hi Friends- Happy Friday! The Friday Edit will be a little later today, but first I am sharing our Office + Playroom as part of the Blogger Stylin’ Home Tours: Work + Play Edition, hosted by Lindsay of The White Buffalo Styling Co. If you are new to Style Your Senses, welcome, welcome! You can learn more about me HERE! If you’ve been here before, sorry that this is very similar to last month’s reveal of the room, but since this BSHT series was such a perfect fit…I had to share it again! ((See the original reveal HERE)). CHIC HOME OFFICE AND PLAYROOM REVEAL The short and sweet of how this chic home office and playroom came about is that it was a big space in our home that was being put to poor poor use. I re-imaged it and knew that I had to implement clever storage options, a neutral color palette appropriate for both a toddler and myself and, most importantly ensure that the space was functional, fun and felt creative! CHIC OFFICE AND PLAYROOM DETAILS: Emoji Hands ($10) | Sunburst Mirror | Basset Hound Book Ends ($10/ea) | Metal Baskets (all painted DM: Brilliant Gold) I separated each category of toys that she plays with the most into each bin and that way she can understand how to clean up and compartmentalize them when she’s done playing. For example, here are a few bin categories: Legos, Princesses, Baby Doll Necessities, My Little Pony. This way all of the bins aren’t mixed with a variety of unrelated toys, because I always find she won’t touch them when they are a jumbled mess. It also makes clean up easy, even for a toddler. I feel like (in the case of a playroom especially) you have got to set yourself up to be successful, and (more often than not) that means adequate and smart storage. We found ALL of our storage bins at At Home! They have a ton of stylish and functional organization pieces that are all super affordable! They add much needed ambient light in the room but don’t really distract from the marquee focal. There are so many places in a home that these can be used, especially at this price! Shop them HERE and my other favorite pair (also under $60!) HERE. Turn on your JavaScript to view content Craft Table (really a coffee table, but works perfectly this way, especially with the storage shelf which we use to hold craft goodies like stickers, play doh and paints) | Kids Eames Chairs For our daughter’s first birthday, we converted an old TV cabinet into a play kitchen for her. It also got a little makeover for the new playroom with the pink drapes. See how we DIY’d the kitchen HERE. Now, on to the office! I was dying for a space that felt glam and creative, but also one that would lend itself to the rest of the room. I splurged on pieces like the desk and custom art work and they give it a sophisticated look, while allowing it to still be playful… Turn on your JavaScript to view content CHIC OFFICE AND PLAYROOM DETAILS: Desk | Lamp | Chair | Pillow | Art Print | Frame | Drapes ($10 for a pair!) I also took the chance to convert the room’s closet into a shared craft + toy closet and got all giddy about organizing it with THIS. I shared what this closet looked like before in THIS POST and wow it was tragic. Don’t be surprised if you see a new padlock on the outside of the door tomorrow. I’ll maybe cook you dinners as my rental fee 😉

Lindsay B says June 16, 2016 at 10:18 AM What a beautiful space! I’m looking for a kid craft table and love the table chair combo you’ve selected. My only question is is it comfortable for the kids to sit at the table, given the shelf underneath and height of the chairs?
