Photo App Love + A Favorite Gift February 5, 2014 | It would be hard to find someone who loves photos more than I do. Truly, I feel like they are priceless memories to remember the happiest of times. It’s funny because people pay me to create these memories for them, and I totally slack off when it comes to printing them for my own family. Of course, I love curating a fun, girly photo shoot for LK, I then end up editing less than 5 images, printing none and the rest just sit on my computer. What a total waste. Aside from the “staged” photos, my favorites are always living (and dying) on my phone. A food covered face, an ear-to-ear smile swinging at the park, or her toes in the sand for the first time….yep, they’re all there on my camera roll. I want to remember these things, yall but the last thing I have time to do is upload them to my computer, then upload them to another site, then pick the sizes, then pick the prints up. Geez Louise I’m tired just from typing it. So, on my hunt for something easier I found the Walgreens photo app. I could be wayyyy behind the times on this one and sadly they aren’t paying me to tell you this, but in one short week it’s made my life so much easier and happier that I had to share. Seriously, you just download the app and allow it access to your camera roll and Instagram and you can check off the photos that you want to print from your phone, they automatically print to 4×6 (or 4×4 for Insta prints), and you pick them up at your local Walgreens within an hour. It was amazing when I had sooo many photos that I wanted to print for LK’s party, and I am SO glad that I have them now for us to look back on. Here’s what I did with them…. Instagrams The next thing that I did with the photos was add some to her daily journal album…you guys have got to see this! My sister-in-law extraordinaire made this darling book for me and gifted it to me at my shower. It had a calendar for each month with open space to write our happenings each day for the first year of our sweet girls life. On the opposing page it was themed and decorated so adorable according to what occasion was happening that month. I’m not going to lie, I’m not a journal-er. The task of having to write something down each day freightened me, but I was surely going to give it a try. I would leave it by my bed or on the sofa, so that each night I could write a little note about what happened that day. Some are big like first tooth, first word and first crawl, and some are so small like a sweet snuggle or a trip to the park she really enjoyed. Each one is so perfect and this book would be the only THING that I would grab if our house was on fire. It has become so special to me and all of those sweet little memories make me tear up each time I read through the pages. So thank you to my amaze SIL for such a great gift. And if you know someone expecting…you should DIY your own for them I promise it may not seem like much at the time, but will be invaluable at the end of 365 days. Hopefully this inspires you to print some pics and put them in an album…after all you have got to have some pics to blackmail them with at their wedding, right?! Happy Wednesday!
